SRAM Hydraulic Road Brakes Recall

Recalled: SRAM's Red hydraulic rim and disc brakes

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, SRAM has voluntarily issued a safety recall on its 2014 model-year Road Disc Brake Systems because the hydraulic seal material can fail, resulting in the abrupt loss of brake power and the inability to safely stop the bicycle

The recalled brake systems were sold both individually and on complete bicycles earlier this year. SRAM requests that anyone who has a bike equipped with SRAM Hydraulic Disc or Hydraulic Rim Brakes stop using the bike immediately. All products shipped to date, and currently in the market or in inventory will be recalled. SRAM is recalling the entire production run (38,000 systems).

Recalled: SRAM's S700 hydraulic rim and disc brakes

The following products are specifically affected:

SRAM RED HRD – Hydraulic Road Disc
SRAM RED HRR – Hydraulic Road Rim
SRAM S700 HRD – Hydraulic Road Disc
SRAM S700 HRR – Hydraulic Road Rim

The remedy
If you have one of these brake systems, please stop riding it immediately and return it to the point of purchase or your nearest authorized SRAM retailer to work out a replacement plan.
